Why Old Masters?
The paintings of the Dutch Golden Age (ca. 1600 – 1700) marks a major turning point in the presentation of Christian works of art. Up to the beginning of the Golden Age of Dutch painting the figure of Christ was most often represented in a stylized form which separated Christ from the people. The paintings of the Dutch Golden Age by Rembrandt, Vermeer, and others showing a human Christ connected with peoples feelings, as if Christ was close to them.
In the presentation of our greeting cards, Knights River Publishing brings forth the images of Christ, as the Dutch painters and other painters of the Golden Age intended.
